The 2014 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend in
Orlando, Florida runs from Wednesday, January 8th through Sunday,
January 12th. This year the
Liver Life Challenge team has entries available for the Walt Disney World Full
Marathon, Half Marathon, Goofy Challenge and Dopey Challenge.
Runners and walkers alike are welcome to participate in all Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend race events. Please note, that participants are required to maintain a minimum 16 minute mile pace to finish their selected race. In addition, all runners are required to pick up a race packet from Disney’s Health and Wellness Expo at least one day prior to their first event. There is no packet pick-up at the start line of any race, meaning all Liver Life Challenge participants must arrive in Orlando by late afternoon the day before their first race.

Team Race Options:
Walt Disney World Half Marathon (1 day - 1 race - 13.1 miles)
Saturday, January 11, 2014 – Epcot®
Run 13.1 miles from just outside Epcot to the fabled Magic Kingdom® where runners pass through Cinderella’s castle. Along the way participants will see Disney characters stationed along the route, a variety of Disney Resort properties and much more. End the race by passing through Epcot and crossing the finish line near the iconic Spaceship Earth at Epcot.
Walt Disney World Marathon (1 day - 1 race - 26.2 miles)
Sunday, January 12, 2014 - Epcot®
Run 26.2 miles through all four Walt Disney World theme parks. Just imagine passing through Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom on your way to run by the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom®, the Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios® and on through the Showcase of the World in Epcot. Cross the finish line near the iconic Spaceship Earth at Epcot.
Goofy Challenge (2 days - 2 races – 39.3 miles)
Saturday, January 11 and Sunday January 12, 2014 - Epcot®
If your idea of heaven is running for a weekend through Disney, then the Goofy Challenge is for you! Participants in the Goofy Challenge participate in the both the Half Marathon and Full Marathon during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. For many it’s a badge of honor to meet the challenge that Goofy has set out. Participants will receive medals for completing both the Half and Full Marathon in addition to a Goofy Challenge medal. This race is suggested for experienced runners who have participated in Full and Half Marathons in the past.
Dopey Challenge (4 days – 4 races – 48.6 miles)
Thursday, January 9 through Sunday, January 12, 2014 – Epcot®
Think you have what it takes to train for four races in four days? New in 2014, the Dopey Challenge gives participants the opportunity to run the Disney Family Fun Run 5k on Thursday, the new Walt Disney World 10k® on Friday, the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on Saturday and the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday. Participants will receive medals for their participation in all four races along with medals for the Goofy Challenge and the Dopey Challenge. This race is for suggested for more experienced runners and is the ultimate challenge produced by runDisney.
The American Liver Foundation has crafted a full experience for Liver Life Challenge participants. We will travel with you to the start line and be waiting for you at the finish. During race weekend the Liver Life Challenge participants will receive lodging for up to five nights (dependent on the race selected), two private team dinners, a team tent at the finish line and on-going support from the staff.
Please note, the American Liver Foundation does not have individual entries available for the Disney Family Fun Run 5k or Walt Disney World 10k.
