HOW TO JOIN SPONSOR A RUNNER RUNNER'S LOGIN

Community Running

Community Running is a Boston-area, non-profit running organization whose motto is "professional coaching in a non-competitive atmosphere." They offer coached workouts year-round that are geared for all runners, regardless of age, experience or ability.

Run for Research has partnered with Community Running to offer our team advanced workouts with supervision from their coaches and trainers. They have generously waived their annual membership fee, which is normally $125. Our team members only have to pay the modest track fee of $50 for the season. When you get an opportunity please let the coaches know how much we appreciate their generosity and support.

Contact Coach Brian Hamill for more information.

Workout Details

All runners planning on participating in the Community Running track workouts at MIT must complete the application (application link) and bring it with you to the first session that you attend at MIT, along with a $50 track fee. Community Running has generously waived its regular $125 membership fee for RFR team mates.

During the marathon season, Community Running offers interval pacing track workouts every Monday evening and tempo track workouts every Thursday evening. The intention of these workouts is to help runners determine their ideal pace for various distances in order to determine realistic marathon time goals.

Runners meet at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center (also known as Johnson Athletic Field) at MIT at 7:00 sharp. Directions to the sports center.
