HOW TO JOIN SPONSOR A RUNNER RUNNER'S LOGIN

Out-of-Towners

Although the Run for Research® is based around Boston, we are joined every year by runners from across the United States and, occasionally, around the world. And while those runners may have to train on their own in their hometowns, they are an active part of the team through the website, our e-mail discussion groups and other activities. And during Marathon Weekend, they get the pleasure of meeting—or reuniting with—their liver teammates as we enjoy the team dinner, race-day breakfast and post-race festivities.

Testamonial from Out-Of-Town Teammate, Peter Waters - Boulder, Colorado

PDLD
In January 2008 I decide to literally follow in my brother Sean's footsteps and join the American Liver Foundation team and run the Boston Marathon® . Living in Colorado I was not sure what to expect from the team in terms of support, except that come race day I would be joined by 249 other amazing people (according to my brother two time RFR runner) in the burnt orange jersey of the Liver team. As I began my 4 months of training my expectations of going it alone out were soon abolished and replaced by an overwhelming amount of support in the form of emails, newsletters, packages, and the always available voice (Laura Dempsey) on the other end of the phone.  Come race weekend when I finally had an opportunity to meet the team face-to-face it felt more like a reunion then a first time introduction. I could not have imagined ever running Boston with out the RFR logo across my chest, the support and energy that comes from behind those letters (RFR) is what certainly carried me across the finish line.
