I'm continuing to help the American Liver Foundation in the fight against liver disease that affects over 30 million people in the United States. Many of you were kind enough to donate in May 2009 when I ran the Rock n Roll Marathon. Kendra, my 14 y.o. neighbor with a history of hepatoblastoma, had a liver resection in June( 75% of her liver was removed), and has since finshed her chemotherapy. She is doing well, and is now gaining her strength back with physical and occupational therapy. She is in 9th grade and being home-schooled for the first semester, and planning to return to campus in the Spring. All of your support for Kendra has been amazing and more than appreciated. Please continue to help her and others with liver disease by contributing to the American Liver Foundation.
I will be running the Carlsbad Half-Marathon in January 2010( 4th in a row) and would appreciate ANY donation to this dedicated organization Your generous gift will help the American Liver Foundation provide research, education, and advocacy to assist people affected by liver disease in the United States.
Donating is easy! Just click the ?Click Here to Sponsor Me? button.
Thanks to all and be well,
Brian( Farb)

Why Support the American Liver Foundation
- 30 million Americans - one in every 10 - are or have been affected by a liver, biliary, or gallbladder disease.
- Liver disease is the ninth leading disease related cause of death in the United States with more than 42,000 people dying each year.
- There are more than 100 types of liver disease, with hepatitis A, B, and C being the most common.
- Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, an obesity-related chronic liver disease, may affect as many as one in every four adults over the age of 18.
- Hepatitis B and C infection significantly increase the risk of liver cancer, one of the few cancers currently on the rise in the U.S.
Many forms of liver disease are preventable, and many more can be treated effectively if detected early. Please help us spread the word about liver health!
