Fundraising Honor Roll

Climbing Mount Shasta was never a life long goal of mine until I found about this amaziing event. The journey up 14,179 feet signifies the journey that people with liver disease have to overcome and my grandpa was one of them. When I was little my grandpa was diagnosed with liver disease. Being so young I can't say I remember too much, but what I do remember are the many trips my nana took to the UCSF Medical center, the yellow Jaundice of his skin and the fear you could sometimes see in my family members eyes when we knew it was almost time. We thankfully got an extra 7 years with him after a miracle liver transplant, but in the end the new liver couldn't last forever and we lost him in 2000. I want to honor him with this climb and I am asking you to help me raise the money to do so. Thank you for any contribution you can make.

Here are some facts I'm sure you didn't know about how promanant liver disease is.....

  • Liver cancer is one of the few primary cancers on the rise in the United States.
  • Approximately 5.4 million Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis B or hepatitis C. About 65% and 75% , respectively, are unaware that they are infected.
  • It is estimated that up to 25% of the U.S. population could have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease--a condition that can lead to life-threatening damage.

. Together we can make a difference and it's as simple as helping me reach my fundraising goal.

Thank you for supporting the Mt. Shasta Climb 2014 on June 13-16, 2014!
