Fundraising Honor Roll

BIG NEWS!! I received my official acceptance email into the 2015 Boston Marathon a few weeks ago! My qualifying time was 3:32:12 at the 2013 Chicago Marathon. I am BEYOND excited about my acceptance! This is the stuff all runners dream of and only a handful ever get to experience!

With that said, I am now running TWO marathons on behalf of the American Liver Foundation: the Marine Corps Marathon on October 26 of this year and than the Boston Marathon in April 2015!

I am 28 years old this year (eeck)! I've again been reminded, after a family death this year, that life is very short. I've decided that life should be celebrated to it's fullest every single day! Life is a wonderful thing and I am very fortunate to have my life filled with lots of love and wonderful people! Help me celebrate life and spread the love to others with a donation of $28 today (or a multiple of 28)!

Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of more than 30 million Americans living with liver disease.

Where does your donation go? I'm glad you asked!

For only $28, you can help the ALF provide education materials to one middle school classroom.

With a $140 donation, you can help the ALF provide 2 support group sessions that provide emotional support and information to people with liver disease and their caregivers.

A donation of $280, you can help the ALF fund one HelpLine professional who provides information, support and education material to callers through the American Liver Foundation’s national HelpLine.

A donation of $560 will fund a Hepatitis C support group for one month.

Why the American Liver Foundation?

Currently, I am a staff member of the American Liver Foundation – Great Lakes Division. In my role of Event Manager, I have been lucky enough to be able to meet and work with some very exceptional people. I’m running for my colleagues and friends whom every day battle liver disease and/or tirelessly work to help find a cure for liver disease. I am running for my dad - a soon to be retired Hepatologist - who's constant love and support made me the compassionate person/running nut that I am today.

Did you know:

  • Liver cancer is one of the few primary cancers on the rise in the United States.
  • It is estimated that up to 25% of the U.S. population could have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease--a condition that can lead to life-threatening damage.

By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the Foundation provide community-based education, research, support, and advocacy related to help prevent and treat liver disease. Together we can make a difference and it's as simple as helping me reach my fundraising goal.

Donating is easy! Just click the "Donate" button to get started.

The Liver Life Challenge is a celebration of my commitment to a world free of liver disease. Please help me make that goal a reality! I support the American Liver Foundation® because it:

  • Provides education programs, support services, and outreach activities that reach more than 200,000 individuals annually and raise awareness on liver disease prevention and management.
  • Is the largest non-governmental supporter of liver disease research in the U.S. and since 1979, the American Liver Foundation Research Awards Program has provided more than $24 million to more than 750 qualified scientists and physicians.
