Walk to Make a Difference!

I was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1994, and my brother also has it. Treatment has not been successful for me, and now my liver disease is progressing. Someday soon, I will have to face a new round of difficult treatment. The good news is that the results have improved and many more people are getting cured of this virus. I have seen this difficult drug regimen cure many people.  We're making progress, but it's not enough!

Unfortunately, it was too late for my friend Benny. After enduring many difficult treatments, he developed liver cancer. Benny received a successful living donor liver transplant from his beloved niece Angela, his angel, in 2005. He had some good days, but after many complications and the return of the cancer, he lost his brave fight. Benny was very special, always taking time to inspire others.

Benny was one of the founders of the Walk on Long Island. Ironically, he lost his fight during Liver Life Walk 2009. He was my hero, and I miss him every day.

Giving Is Everything

It would mean so much if you could give even $5 or $10. Every donation brings me one step closer to my goal. Please help by giving what you can. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

I am the Captain of TEAM BENNY, and my husband Robert is the Co-Captain! Look for us at the L.I. Walk in our special TEAM BENNY T-SHIRTS. His band "CRISIS" will perform at the L.I. Walk. Come out to support them!! What a great way to have fun & fight liver disease!

Thank you for supporting the Liver Life Walk Long Island on May 4, 2013!
