Walk for Fun....Walk for Brooke!
I'm on a personal mission to help the American Liver Foundation in the fight against liver disease and I need your help.
My daughter, Brooke was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia at 6 weeks old. Biliary Atresia is a rare condition in newborn infants in which the common bile duct between the liver and the small intestine is blocked or absent. The cause of the condition is unknown. At 7 weeks of age Brooke had the Kasai procedure performed to remove the damaged bile duct and replace it with a part of her small intestine to gain bile flow. This procedure is not a cure and many children with biliary atresia end up requiring liver transplantation at some point in their life. Brooke is a happy and fun loving 6 year old.
Get ACTIVE, have FUN and help me raise funds for a great cause.
