My Liver Life Walk Donation Page
Once again let's represent this year for:
Please donate to my page, or join our team to help raise money for my husband Kevin, and the millions of people suffering with liver disease. Kevin received a liver transplant at Mt Sinai Hospital in New York on 2/20/13 after being on the tranplant waiting list for seventeen months. His donor was a 43 year old wife and mother of two young boys. Her death was no doubt a tragedy and her loss will be felt by her family forever. However in this tragedy there was hope given not just to Kevin and our family, but to those families whose loved one received her heart, lungs, kidneys etc. Her loss gave life to at least five individuals perhaps more. We are walking not just for our family at the Long Island Liver Walk, but for the memory of Kevin's donor and the selfless decision she made of becoming an organ donor. If you can, please donate money to our cause, if you can't donate please come and walk, and if you can't do either please become an organ donor. We would love to have you do all three. At some point Kevin will be given the opportunity to write to his donor's family to let them know how important this gift has been to us, and our unborn daughter, our family and friends and how we will forever remember her and her gift and how my daughter will be told about the woman that saved her fathers life,. Please donate to help other fathers and mothers share a similar story with their children and grandchildren.
Every step I take, and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of the 30 million Americans living with liver disease.
By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Liver Foundation provide community-based education and prevention programs, protect the rights of people with liver disease, and fund critical research.
By making a donation you'll take me one step closer to my goal and take all of us another stride closer to a world free of liver disease!
Kevin and I truly appreciate all of your support!
