As new participants in the Liver Life Walk, my family and I are helping to move forward the fight against liver disease and we need your help!

 

As most of my friends are aware, I was surprised by a diagnosis of cirrhosis of the liver in December 2011. 2012 was a tough year, but with the support of my patient and loving family and friends, the prayers and wishes of many wonderful co-workers, and the spectacular staff at the Cleveland Clinic, by Christmas, 2012, I was well on my way to a recovery for which I am very gateful. I thank you all for this second lease on life.

 

Because of the ordeal, I was lucky to have met Pat Summers, who has inspired me to try to do more to raise the awareness of liver disease. It came as a shock to me and my family, and the causes are not yet well understood, so prevention is tough. Pat made my wife and I aware of the Liver Walk of Life, and we decided that this would be a good way to support the efforts of the health care community looking at diagnosis and prevention.

 

We have joined Pat's team - the Liverdance - and we invite you to join the walk this year, and/or donate to the cause.

 

Every step we all take and every dollar that is raised will make a difference in the lives of the 30 million Americans living with liver disease. By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Liver Foundation provide community-based education and prevention programs, protect the rights of people with liver disease, and fund critical research.

The Liver Life Walk is a celebration of my commitment to a world free of liver disease. Please help me make that goal a reality! I support the American Liver Foundation® because it:
