Liver Life Walk Cincinnati 2013

Team Bella

Welcome to our Liver Life Walk Team Page!

Its that time of year again. time for the liver life walk in cincinnati this year were going BIG! my goal is to raise more money than last year and get alot more people to walk with us.

for those of you who dont know about Bella heres her story, Isabella was born january 6th, 2010 she was instantly diagnosed with jaundice, they couldnt figure out what was cause her jaundice though after 4 non stop days under the lights they transfered her to dayton childrens hospital to have a liver biopsy, the results were inconclusive but they had a good idea of what it might be. They sent us to cincinnati childrens hospital where they performed a second liver biopsy which they diagnosed her with Biliary atresia (which means she has absent or blocked ducts in the liver) and had her scedualed for surgery 5 days later. they preformed a procedure called a "kasai" which creates a way for the bile to drain out of the liver, they procedure isnt perminent and only will hold up for so long before she has to have a liver transplant.

Bella is 3 years old now. going to preschool riding the bus and being her crazy spunky self. everyone who meets bella instantly falls in love with her, how could you not? shes amazing shes a fighter shes adorable despite her having a liver disease she is an energetic lil girl with an amazing heart! she has not needed a liver transplant yet were just waiting for that time to come and watching her closely in the mean time.

they still dont know what causes Bella's disease (biliary atresia) or how to prevent it but every cent raised goes to finding out how to cure Bella

im extreamly excited to participate in the walk again and raise money for a good cause so please help me out and raising money and awareness for liver disease. even a penny helps!
