Dirty Rotten Livers
Welcome to our Liver Life Walk Team Page!
Thank you for your interest in supporting our Liver Life Walk team! We will be walking on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Montrose Beach in the American Liver Foundation's annual Liver Life Walk.
Our team was formed in 2009 by our team captain, Aric Hiser. Aric was one of the strongest and most courageous individuals you could ask to meet. Diagnosed with Crohn's disease as a boy, he later was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. He lived, and struggled, with PSC for nine years before succumbing to complications from an infected TIPS. But, despite all of hardships-and there were many-he never let liver disease defeat his spirit. Although he endured countless hospitalizations and complications with grace and humor, Aric's poor, tired, body did not have the strength of his spirit and on October 31, 2012 his body succumbed to his illness. To get a small sense of his amazing spirit, you can visit Aric's team member page, which still has his statement from last year.
So, now we will walk with Aric as our captain in spirit. We continue to walk with and for him, and all others who struggle with liver disease. Please help us to honor Aric's spirit by raising money and awareness of the devastating impacts of liver disease, the continuing need for research and resources, and the critical importance of registering as an organ donor and spreading the word about the life-saving, life-changing, importance of organ donation.
To make a donation to our team, locate a team member from the list below and click his or her name to visit their Personal Fundraising Webpage. Once there, select the "Sponsor Me" button and follow the instructions to make a donation.
