Thank you for your interest in supporting Team Elaine! This will be our 7th year as a team participating in the Liver Life Walk in memory of Elaine.
Elaine was diagnosed with hepatitis at the age of 5. The hepatitis caused her to suffer from liver disease and meant many trips to doctors' offices and overnight stays at Hartford Hospital which Elaine jokingly referred to as "the spa".
At the age of 26, she was one of the earliest liver transplant recipients at Hartford Hospital. She was very active with her family and community. She was instrumental in forming a Transplant Support Group and volunteered for the American Liver Foundation.
Elaine lost her battle with this disease at the age of 36 in 1997. Team Elaine was formed to honor her memory. It has been nearly sixteen years since we lost her, but the void in our family still remains. If we can help just one young child not go through all that Elaine did, this walk will be worth it.
Over the past six years, our team has raised $19,354. Please help us again this year by sponsoring someone on our team, walking with us and/or becoming a fundraising team member. Last year we had 35 walkers and 61 sponsors from 10 states!
