Dear friends and family

It is once more time for the Liver Life Walk with the American Liver Foundation.  I am very excited to be part of the foundation.  My team, Holly’s Hopeful’s, will be walking and raising money to help end liver disease.

This is my first year as an employee and a walker.  I am very excited to be back at the awesome Lake Rebecca.  It is a beautiful park with volleyball courts, horseshoes, a HUGE playground, and real toilets!  We want to spend the day celebrating with our families, and meeting others with liver disease.

The walk raises money for the American Liver Foundation, which in turn puts that money towards research, education, and support to those with liver disease.   1 in 10 Americans has over 100 types of liver disease.  That is 30 million people, which is more than the amount of people living with diabetes and cancer together.  Nearly 17,000 people are waiting on the transplant list.  We can stop this together!

As many of you know, I had a liver transplant some years ago.  The past two years I have been struggling with getting my disease under control again.  My disease does not have a cure.  Hopefully my doctors and I can slow it down enough that I will not need another transplant.  But it does mean more drugs, more tests, and more praying.

Please help my team raise money and we will be one step closer!  You can join Holly’s Hopefuls on September 21st and walk to end liver disease!

Donating is easy! Just click the blue 'Click Here to Sponsor Me' button to get started.

Thanks, Holly

Thank you for supporting the Liver Life Walk/Fun Run Twin Cities on September 21, 2014!

The Liver Life Walk is a celebration of my commitment to a world free of liver disease. Please help me make that goal a reality! I support the American Liver Foundation® because it:

  • Advocates on behalf of 30 million Americans with liver disease on the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Provides education programs, support services, and outreach activities that reach more than 200,000 individuals annually and raise awareness on liver disease prevention and management.
  • Is the largest non-governmental supporter of liver disease research in the U.S. and since 1979, the American Liver Foundation Research Awards Program has provided more than $24 million to more than 750 qualified scientists and physicians.
