Fundraising Honor Roll

For those of you who know me well, you know how special this cause is to my heart. Liver disease has always been part of my life. My mom was diagnosed with cryptogenic cirrhosis as a child [long before she adopted me]. In 1995, my mom was placed on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Those years of waiting were long – but my mom passed the time by dedicating herself and volunteering for UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing). A match was found and she received her transplant in 1997. I can’t put into words how incredibly grateful I was and still am for that gift of life.

After her transplant, we were fortunate to have another decade or so of healthy years, free of liver disease. Unfortunately, my mom started experiencing serious complications from her body rejecting the new liver and after a series of difficult years, my mom passed away waiting for a second liver transplant in 2010.

As a participant in the Liver Life Walk, I'm helping to move forward the fight against liver disease and I need your help! My goal is to raise awareness and honor my mom who braved this disease with humility and grace. She may not be with us now, but because of organ donation and liver disease research, I was able to have more time with her than anyone ever thought possible. The most important thing we can do to honor her memory is to pick up the torch and continue the crusade to create awareness for organ donation and liver disease.

Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of the 30 million Americans living with liver disease. By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Liver Foundation provide community-based education and prevention programs, protect the rights of people with liver disease, and fund critical research.

By making a donation you'll take me one step closer to my goal and take all of us another stride closer to a world free of liver disease!

Donating is easy! Just click the "Donate" button to get started! All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. No donation is too small!
