Fundraising Honor Roll

Hepatitis C has always been a personal nemesis of mine. It may sound a little odd of a word choice, but i can't think of a more perfect word for something that actively seeks to destroy your life.

I've had the virus since i was born, a vertical transfer, it's the least common way to get it. My mother, on her third round of the treatment,  was able to successfully zero out. As for myself, I've not been so lucky. The first two treatments didn't make a dent in my viral load and made me, physically, worse off. The latest round of the triple cocktail was able to take out a lot of the virus, but was unable to zero out.

So as i wait for the next round of treatment, i find myself in an ever worsening position. But i am lucky, lucky in that I've been able to receive these treatments, lucky in that i've had the friends and support network to assist me with the challenges that have come.

Please help, walk with me, and/or donate so that others who are not so lucky, may have the opportunity luck has denied me.

Sponsor me, and/or join my team, and thank you

(.A new treatment will be ready soon, and my goal is to be on treatment or nearing completion as the Liver Life Walk approaches.)

Thank you for supporting the Liver Life Walk San Diego on June 28, 2014!

The Liver Life Walk is a celebration of my commitment to a world free of liver disease. Please help me make that goal a reality! I support the American Liver Foundation® because it:

  • Advocates on behalf of 30 million Americans with liver disease on the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Provides education programs, support services, and outreach activities that reach more than 200,000 individuals annually and raise awareness on liver disease prevention and management.
  • Is the largest non-governmental supporter of liver disease research in the U.S. and since 1979, the American Liver Foundation Research Awards Program has provided more than $24 million to more than 750 qualified scientists and physicians.
