I don't have a compelling personal story about how liver disease has affected my life.  But I don't need one to support such a worthy cause as the fight against liver disease.  You see, I recently joined the Board of the Desert Southwest Division of the American Liver Foundation. Through my membership and participation, I have met many wonderful people who do have compelling personal stories about how liver disease has affected their lives.

These people are fire fighters, police officers, military (active and veterans) -- well, in my book, heroes.  They are moms, dads, sons, daughters -- those people who matter the most in our lives.

I recently heard a story on the radio about a man who needs a liver transplant.  He was on the bottom of the transplant list.  So, his grandson, who is actively serving in Afghanistan asked his commanding officer for personal leave so he could be tested and determine if he is a match.  His personal leave was granted.  If he is a match, he will be donating 60% of his liver to save a life.

How has liver disease affected your life?  If you think about it, I’m sure it has. What are you going to do about it? You can join the walk or donate, for one.  As a participant in the Liver Life Walk, I'm helping to move forward the fight against liver disease and I need your help!Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of the 30 million Americans living with liver disease. By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Liver Foundation provide community-based education and prevention programs, protect the rights of people with liver disease, and fund critical research.

By making a donation you'll take me one step closer to my goal and take all of us another stride closer to a world free of liver disease!Donating is easy! Just click the "Donate" button to get started! I’ve decided to fight the good fight. Won’t you join me? I hope you do!
