The Liver Guys
Welcome to The Liver Guy's Team Page!
Chris “The Liver Guy” suffered from Hepatitis C, an infectious disease that attacks the liver. He eventually developed liver cancer and was in dire need of a new liver. In August 2011, he had a successful liver transplant at the University of Pennsylvania; and after several treatments in 2013, Chris beat Hepatitis C! Today he lives a healthy life, extremely appreciative of the wonderful family whose loved one donated their liver to save his life.
Unfortunately, Chris is not the only one who has suffered from liver disease – 30 million Americans are personally affected by liver disease and currently, more than 17,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for liver transplants. Join The Liver Guys Team on our third time in a row participating in the Liver Life Walk. We are walking so that those suffering from liver disease can benefit from the critical funding for medical research, public education, patient support services, and advocacy that is accomplished by the money raised. The American Liver Foundation is dedicated to a future where there are effective treatments, cures, and no one dies waiting for a liver transplant.
Please support our cause by donating or joining us as we pound the pavement to change the face of liver health! Every single dollar counts, even $1. To make a donation to our team, locate a team member from the list below and click her or her name to visit their Personal Fundraising Webpage. Once there, select the "Sponsor Me" button and follow the instructions to make a donation.
To join our team, select the "Join Team" link at the top of the list of team members. Then follow the instructions to register for the event as part of our Liver Life Walk team!
On behalf of Chris, The Liver Guys Team, and the millions of people living with liver disease, thank you for your support!
