Fundraising Honor Roll

Hello Family, Friends and Partners,

Help me to help 30 million Americans who suffer from Liver disese.,

Help me celebrate my 100th marathon in April, right where it all began in 2000, in Boston, as I ran my first race - ever - in memory of my Dad.  I said it then as I crossed the Finish Line "next to the birth of my girls, this is the best thing I have ever done" and I whispered it again when I just crossed the finish line at Napa on 3/2/14 running my best race in 2.5 years.  There is no doubt that running Marathons has changed my life and my pace and my perspective.

Over the years you have all been so supportive with your well wishes of encouragement and indulging my stories - Thank you.  Now I ask for your help to make this chapter of this saga a wonderful collective effort.  My goal is indeed ambitious - am hoping that you might consider passing this along to those unknown to me, STRANGERS - who might be interested in being a valuable part of this story.  Strangers were such a vital part of the Boston Bombing aftermath - even as I was stopped 2/3 of a mile from the Finish Line and then as they helped me for the 90 minutes it took to connect with my Cait who was just one block away from the blasts, in the same spot she has been for all but one of my 12 Bostons.

So, the 2014 run will be epic and spiritual and a resilient example for all...and so my ambitious goal.  In addition to this on line effort, there are already plans for a spring golf tournament, some Corporate suppport and an auction for hotel stay giveaways (please go to, and my Fraternity is engaged and this week there is press coverage in NH and here in Orlando- so stay tuned -- this effort will be a marathon of sorts as welll.

Read on now about this important cause - still don't know how / why my dear Dad was affected, but...anything to help others avoid such a debilitating bodily invasion....

A world free of liver disease! That is why I am participating in the Liver Life Challenge. The Liver Life Challenge is an endurance sport training program that helps people like me train for a race while supporting the mission of the American Liver Foundation.

Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a diference in the lives of more than 30 million Americans living with liver disease.

Did you know:

  • Liver cancer is one of the few primary cancers on the rise in the United States.
  • Approximately 5.4 million Americans are chronically infected with hepatitis B or hepatitis C. About 65% and 75% , respectively, are unaware that they are infected.
  • It is estimated that up to 25% of the U.S. population could have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease--a condition that can lead to life-threatening damage.

By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the Foundation provide community-based education, research, support, and advocacy related to help prevent and treat liver disease. Together we can make a difference and it's as simple as helping me reach my fundraising goal.
