Fundraising Honor Roll

Hi friends and family,

Quick update. First of all, THANK YOU so much to everyone who has helped make this season great so far! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your donations! Seconly, I wanted to let you all know that Billy and I are combining our fundraising efforts. If you don't see your name in my fundraising honor roll, it was probably moved over to his page. We are both so grateful for your support and we can't wait to cross the finish line on Boylston St. on April 21st!!

Dear family and friends,

I am happy to announce that on April 21st, 2014, I will be running my 2nd Boston Marathon. Six months ago, my world was shaken by the bombs at the finish line. Although my season came to a halting end, half a mile from the finish line, I am eternally grateful that my family, friends, and teammates are all here with me today. This spring I will join thousands of other runners in Athletes Village to complete the journey that I started last year.
Although I have automatic entry into the marathon, I am returning to the American Liver Foundation Run for Research Team. I will again be running in honor of my former KIPP student, Jon Noon. Jon was born with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia and it has impacted him and his family for the past 13 years. Since he was a baby, Jon has been on liver transplant lists in Boston and Pittsburgh. His family waited and waited as Jon's liver got worse and worse.
This past June, Jon finally received the liver that he has been waiting for. Jon's father, Jeff, was a living donor and gave half of his own liver to his son. I could not be more thrilled to announce that Jon's body has accepted his new liver and both he and his father are doing well.
Currently, one in ten Americans suffers from a form of liver disease. The money raised by the Run for Research Team helps fund the fantastic research that allows kids like Jon to live. Last year I raised over $5,000 with all of your help. This year, I am again aiming to raise $5,000 or more, to total over $10,000 going to fund liver research. Please consider donating to my fundraising, any amount will help!
Thank you all in advance!

Thank you for supporting the Run for Research 2014 on April 21, 2014!

The Run for Research is a celebration of my commitment to a world free of liver disease. Please help me make that goal a reality! I support the American Liver Foundation® because it:

  • Provides education programs, support services, and outreach activities that reach more than 200,000 individuals annually and raise awareness on liver disease prevention and management.
  • Is the largest non-governmental supporter of liver disease research in the U.S. and since 1979, the American Liver Foundation Research Awards Program has provided more than $24 million to more than 750 qualified scientists and physicians.
