I'm running the Boston Marathon this year for two reasons. One is that I work with the American Liver Foundation, an absolutely incredible organization. More on them below. But two is that I've lived in Boston since I was 18, and have made my way down to the finish line every year to cheer on friends, family, and strangers during the Boston Marathon. This past year was no exception, and I was there when the bombs tore through Boylston Street, and tore through the lives of Bostonians and people every where.
After that moment I knew that I was going to run in 2014; to show I wasn't afraid, to show that terrorizism can't stop my city, my home, from celebrating one of our most important and favorite days of the year, and to show myself that anything is possible. I know that I could run without a bib number, people do it every year. But this is a cause that is close to my heart. So while I'm training to run 26.2, please support me in my fundraising efforts. Help me to help 30 million Americans.
A world free of liver disease! That is why I am participating in the Liver Life Challenge. The Liver Life Challenge is an endurance sport training program that helps people like me train for a race while supporting the mission of the American Liver Foundation.
Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a diference in the lives of more than 30 million Americans living with liver disease.
