MOVING FORWARD...
…to a future free of liver disease. That is the goal the volunteers and staff of the American Liver Foundation® work toward every day. You can join them and make a difference as a participant in the Liver Life Walk®. Your participation will keep us moving forward in the fight against one of America's fastest growing public health concerns -- liver disease.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this year's Liver Life Walk Chicago! More people are joining the walk every day, but whether you have been working at fundraising for several weeks now or are just beginning to entertain thoughts about how you'll raise that $100 to earn your official Liver Life Walk t-shirt, we want to encourage you to think about the next steps you can take to raise funds to promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
For those looking for specific details about the walk please see below. We have also provided the answers to some frequently asked questions so that you feel comfortable on June 17th. Keep up the amazing work fundraising and we will ensure you have a fantastic walk!

Liver Life Walk Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to participate?
There is no cost to participate, however, we recommend that all those who register the day of the event make a minimum donation of $25. We appreciate all donations as every dollar we raise helps patients with liver disease.
What time does the walk start?
The walk will step off at 10:00am. We will have a short program before the walk starts, so please make your way to the stage around 9:45 for the program.
How much are the t-shirts?
The t-shirts are our first fundraising incentive level; therefore, they are $100. All participants who raise $100 or more will receive the official Liver Life Walk T-shirt. If you would like to receive a t-shirt you may make a $100 donation.
Can I continue fundraising after the walk?
Yes! You can continue fundraising up to 6 weeks after the walk. We encourage all our walkers to continue their fundraising efforts through that point and are here to help them with their efforts.
What do the ribbons mean?
The ribbons symbolize all the people we are walking and raising funds for.
- Blue– individuals who have received a liver
transplant
- Green – individuals currently battling liver
disease
- White – in memory of individuals who lost their
lives to liver disease
The ribbons are available at our American Liver Foundation Information Tent.
How long is the actual walk?
There are two distance options. The first is about 2 miles and the second is about 3.1 miles or a 5K. All walkers can decide which distance they want to complete. Walkers are free to turn around at any point and return to the walk site if they feel they cannot complete either of those distances.
How must does the food cost?
Food is free for all our participants. Please enjoy the festivities!
Are strollers, wagons, dogs allowed on the walk route?
Yes, all of the above are allowed as well as wheelchairs. However, in-line skates and bicycles are not permitted to ensure the safety of our walkers.
